摘要 This paper discusses the implications of the favor for both the Communicative Lan-guage Teaching Approach and the Eclectic Approach over many other methods found in an international survey on language teaching methods conducted in the summer of 1999. It further proposes a new conceptualization of language teaching methods in the 21st century and encourages language teachers to situate their teaching within a five-dimension (e.g., historical, architectural, developmental, contextual, and reflexive) framework.
