摘要
杨昉作为山西西学文化传播者在山西科技史上是鲜有提及的,长期被山西科技史研究者们忽略。他在语言、化学、物理、农学、医学方面的造诣颇深,将大量的西学仪器和西方技术引进山西,更是以山西最早的摄影师流芳后世,而他的科学造诣远远超过他这个称号。本文将充分肯定他在山西科技史上为中西文化的交流做出的贡献,突出他作为山西西学东渐先驱的历史地位,以现有的史料还原一个更真实的杨昉。
Yang Fang is rarely be mentioned as a cultural disseminator in the science and technology history of Shanxi. He was neglected for a long time by scholars of the science and technology of Shanxi. He is well accomplished in language,chemistry,physics,and agriculture,medical. He brought in a lot of apparatus and technologies of western culture. He is also well known as the first photographer of Shanxi,but his scientific attainments is far beyond that title. This paper acknowledged his contribution to communication between China and western world in culture,highlights his historical role in the eastward transmission of western sciences in Shanxi,hoping to restore a real Yang Fang with existing information.
