王跃主任医师认为薛生白"连苏饮"辛开苦降,治肺胃不和之湿热证,药味少,药量轻,与孟河医派清润平稳,用药轻、巧、灵特点不谋而合;辛以开郁,苦以降上逆之火,黄连苦寒,清热燥湿、泻火解毒;紫苏叶行气宽中,二药相和,中焦痰湿得化,郁结得开,热邪得以清散。呕吐伴胸脘部痞满、咽干、口苦、烦躁不安、夜寐不宁、舌红、苔黄、脉沉而数,夹湿浊,当伴头沉身困重等,苔黄腻,脉沉数而濡,均为胃中郁热、湿热中阻,皆可以连苏饮主之;内伤致湿热、湿毒蕴结中焦而呕吐;妊娠胎热上攻,胃气上逆致妊娠呕吐;外感致肺胃郁热而呕吐;若不吐,胸闷脘满、嗳气泛酸,烦躁不安,夜寐不宁等,亦属胃中郁热、湿热中阻、肺胃不和,亦均可用。所谓辨证论治,异病同治是也。附胃肠型感冒、妊娠剧吐、糖尿病胃轻瘫、肾衰呕吐验案4则。

Pungent drugs is used to open depression and bitter drugs is used to descend the fire which is adverse rising. Coptis is bitter cold, heat and dampness, purging fire detoxification and Perilla leaf is for widing middle-jiao, this combination of the two can eliminate dampness in middle-jiao, open depression and clear heat. Vomiting with thoracic epigastric fullness, dry throat, bitter taste, irritability, night sleep restless, tongue red, yellow moss, deep and rapid pulse, sometimes with Heavy head and body trapped, yellow greasy moss deep, rapid and soft pulse, which reflect stagnated heat in stomach and dampness-heat resistance, can be treated by LianSu decoction. Dampness-heat, dampness-toxin accumulation in middle Jiao caused by internal injuries can result vomiting. Embryo heat upside, everse ascending of Stomach-Qi can result vomiting of pregnancy. Lung- stomach heat rete caused by exopathy can also result vomiting. Even if you do not spit, when appear thoracic epigastric fullness, eructation pantothenic acid, irritability, and sleep at night restless, it also can be thinked of the stomach stagnated heat, damp heat resistance, lung and stomach discord. LianSu decoction is also available. So different diseases can adopt the same treatment method, which also fit the Treatment according to syndrome differen. Providing 4 examples including gastrointestinal type cold, vomiting of pregnancy, diabetes mellitus,and vomiting caused by renal failure.
