摘要
公示语翻译可以从不同的翻译理论切入,强调公示语的目的功能、交际功能、礼貌功能等。基于韩礼德系统功能语言学语域理论视角,从语域理论与翻译的关系出发,通过分析公示语语篇语域三要素,即"语场""语旨""语式"的特征,以北京、上海和广州的地铁公示语英译为例,强调规范公示语翻译,探讨语域理论指导下的翻译策略,并实现源语和译语语域的对等。
Different translation theories can be applied into the studies of the translation of public signs, in which the purpose, communication, politeness and other functions of public signs are stressed respectively. Based on Halliday＇s register theory of the systematic functional linguistics, the present study analyzes the relation between the register theory and translation. Three elements of register （field, tenor and mode） are illustrated through Chinese-English translation of metro signs in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to investigate methods of translating public signs in order that the translated versions have the same register as the original lanzuage.
