摘要
蒋梦麟是现代中国著名教育家 ,反对顽固守旧和全盘西化 ,主张引进西方文化 ,建构亦中亦西的文化体系 ,热情讴歌五四新文化运动 ,提倡科学教育与人文教育并重 ,追求个性自由的现代教育理念 ,有力地配合了五四新文化运动。他对五四的缺点进行了理性的反省 ,为后人提供了一份极具价值的思想文化遗产。
Jiang Meng-lin is a famous educator in modern China who fought against the diehard conservativeness and overall westernization. He advocated actively introducing Western culture and constructing a cultural system that was both Chinese and Western. He ardently eulogized the May 4th New Culture Movement, attached equal importance to education of science and humanities, pursued modern ideas of education for freedom of individuality, playing a positive supporting role for the May 4th New Culture Movement. In the meantime, he undertook rational reflection on the inadequacies of the May 4th Movement, leaving an extremely valuable heritage of ideas and culture for later generations.
