轻轨交通是最为可持续的交通方式之一。为了保持这种优势地位，国际公共交通联合会（UITP）的轻轨交通委员会成立了一个名为“可持续的电车”工作小组。工作小组的工作重点是节约能源，许多节能的方法通过试验加以验证，并予以公布。
The energy saving work of 'sustainable electric car' working group affi liated to the Light Rail Transportation Committee of the International Public Transport Association is introduced. The energy saving methods were studied and analyzed and a number of energy-saving technologies and management measures by the verifi cation were announced.
