Functional hazard assessment is the first step of safety assessment which is very important. The text firstly in- troduces the objective and process of functional hazard assessment, and then with automatic flight control system as an ex- ample, details assessment process which provides certain reference for system level functionalhazard assessment of civil air- craft.
