To extend the production design to detailed design means the shipyard designers would participate in the detailed design process of carried out by design institutes, including the system and arrangement design, the node and standards application, drawing submission for approval, ver. 0 drawing review, etc. This paper takes a real ship as an example to discuss the implementation of this extension and relative remarks, as well as the significance in terms of talent teams building and economic benefits to the shipyards.
