This paper tests the effects of social and political risks on China' s outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) respectively. The results show that the attitude of China's enterprises towards these risks depends on the bilateral relationship between China and the host country. China's companies pay more attention to the social and political risks if the bilateral relationship is not sound. In addition, compared with the social risk, Chinese companies pay more attention to the political risk. And in recent years, the influence of the political risk on Chinese companies' location decision is becoming more and more significant, while the influence of the social risk is becoming increasingly weaker.
