摘要 Residents in Dehong,southwest China’s Yunnan Province,drench themselves to mark the Water Splashing Festival on April 12.The festival,which celebrates the Dai people’s New Year,falls annually in mid-April according to the ethnic calendar,lasting between three and seven days.It is also observed in Southeast Asian nations such as Thailand,Myanmar and Cambodia.The event’s revelers customarily throw water at one another as a way of imparting blessings.
