Objective: To explore the application effect of the theory of Peplau's interpersonal relationship to nursing care of patients with orthopedic operation under non general anesthesia. Methods: 80 patients with orthopedic operation under non general anesthesia were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group( 40 cases in each group). The conventional nursing measures in the operation room were implemented in the control group and the nursing model in the light of the theory of Peplau's interpersonal relationship was adopted in the observation group. The patients' psychological status, pain and satisfaction, operation and hospitalization time were compared between the two groups. Results: The scores of anxiety and depression were lower in the observation group than the control group after the intervention( P〈0. 05); the scores of visual analogue scale( VAS) were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group after the beginning of operation and at different time point after operation( P〈0. 05); the operation and hospitalization time was significantly shorter in the observation group than the control group( P〈0. 05); the patients' satisfaction with nursing care in the operation room was better in the observation group than the control group( P〈0. 05). Conclusion: The nursing model in the light of the theory of Peplau's interpersonal relationship can effectively relieve the adverse psychological status of patients with orthopedic operation under non general anesthesia and can improve the patient's life quality.
