摘要
艾丽丝·门罗的短篇小说《逃离》讲述了小镇女子卡拉不满家庭生活的不顺与失意,逃离家园,却又半途而返,回归家园的故事。空间批评视角下的家园等空间处所蕴含着特定的文化内涵,对女性自我身份建构产生了深远的影响。卡拉在家园空间里自我的缺失导致其逃离,试图追寻自我,而逃离过程中内心空间的挣扎和觉醒又促使其回归家园,创造性地重构了属于自我的真实空间:在现实家园空间与内心自由空间之间双重栖居,发现了真实的自我。门罗通过女主人公逃离复归的空间实践,阐明了对"逃离"全新的看法:人生远非逃离,而是坚忍地面对、真实地生活。
Runaway, written by Alice Munro, tells the story of a woman in a small town named Carla who runs away from home due to unhappy family life but returns home halfway. Space, such as home, analyzed from the perspective of space theory, has great impact on females' self-construction of identity. Carla, lost of space of self at home, runs away from home to seek space of self. However, she returns home because of innermost struggle and awaking during runaway, reconstructs the au- thentic space of self, namely, dwelling in both realistic space of home and inner space of freedom and knows her real self. Through the heroine's spatial practice of runaway and returning, Munro reveals her new interpretation of "runaway": people should not run away blindly, but to live in authentic space unremittingly.
