Objective To investigate the clinical effect of punctal plug in the treatment of video display terminal re-fractory dry eye syndrome. Methods All 59 patients (118 eyes)with video display terminal refractory dry eye syndrome from February to May 2013 in our hospital were collected and divided into two groups according to the method of treat-ment,observation group A of 30 cases (60 eyes),inferior lacrimal point lacrimal plug implantation of a permanent treat-ment was applied in observation group A,observation group B of 29 cases (58 eyes),the lacrimal point lacrimal implant temporary bolt from the insoluble and inferior lacrimal point lacrimal implant permanent embolic therapy were used in observation group B. Results After treatment of 3-month,BUT,Schirmer-Ⅰ in two groups was significantly higher than that before treatment respectively,FL and subjective symptom score in two groups was significantly lower than that be-fore treatment respectively, with statistical difference(P〈0.05).After treatment of 3-month,BUT,Schirmer-Ⅰ,FL and sub-jective symptom score in two groups was compared respectively, with no statistical difference(P〉0.05).The incidence rate of complication in observation group A was higher than that in observation group B (P〈0.05). Conclusion Punctal plug can improve clinical symptom of video display terminal refractory dry eye syndrome, the implantation of a temporary punctal plug from the insoluble lacrimal and inferior lacrimal point of permanent implants is safer.
