MOOC is the educational buzzword in the past two years. As a new disruptive technology, MOOC provides a new context for learning. Due to no prerequisites, no cost and easy access, MOOC have attracted a wide range of users with diverse backgrounds and motivation. Therefore, MOOC have to enhance personalized learning and help learners to develop self-regulated learning through continuous dialogue, interaction and reflection. Based on this assumption, the study elaborates the strategies for designing personalized and self-regulated learning in MOOC, with a view of moving MOOC research and development towards personalized learning.
