摘要
小波变换以其良好的空间—频率局部化特性以及优良的非平稳信号的表示性能等特性而备受信号压缩领域的重视。本文概述了基于小波变换的图像和视频压缩的原理和方法 ,阐述了近年来小波变换在图像和视频压缩编码中的研究进展 ,并对今后的发展方向进行了探讨。
Wavelet transform is of most interest to many reseachers in the field of signanl compression because of its very good space frequency localization characteristics and the excellent representation properties of non stationary signals. This paper summarizes the methods of image and video compression coding based on wavelet transform. Then the advances of wavelet based image and video compression techniques are presented. We alse analyze the future reseach directions of still image and video compression.
