摘要 K.Warner Schaie是美国当今最有影响的心理学家之一。他在成人认知发展和老年心理学领域取得了大量的研究成果。其中 ,“西雅图纵向研究”已经成为该研究领域的经典研究模式。该研究内容涉及认知能力演变过程的模式差异、认知能力衰退发生的可觉察年龄以及衰退幅度、认知能力的差异模式和幅度、认知能力年龄相关性变化个体差异的前因以及采用教育性干预手段扭转和延缓智力衰退等五个方面。 K.Warner Schaie的研究不仅为美国心理学的发展作出了非凡贡献 。 Summary: (1) K. W. Chaie is one of the most influential American Psychologists. He gains rich achievements in the studying fields of adult intellectual development and geriatric psychology. His Seattle Longitudinal Study has become the classic model of the study of adult intellectual development. (2) The study of adult intellectual development consists of: (a) The difference of mode in the process of the evolution of the intellect (power of the mind to reason). (b) The perceivable age the intellect begin to wane (decline) and the range of declination. (c) The different modes and the range of the intellect. (d) The causes of the difference in declining of intellect by individual with increasing of age. (e) To resort to education as means of intervention to turn or put off the declining of intellect. (3) K. W. Schaie's study has offered outstanding contribution to the development of psychology in U.S. and solving social problems and working out social public policy in practice bearing important significance.
