The dependence of polar Kerr effect on electron exchange splitting energy is investigated by using the microscopic quantum theory and energy band transition model.It is found that the Kerr rotation θ K is not proportional to exchange splitting energy Δ unless Δ is very small;expansion of θ K in terms of Δ includes only odd power.
