Jindan 36 was cooperatively developed in 1993 by Crop Genetic Research Institute, Shanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Crop Genetic Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It was obtained by crossing Jinhuan 96c with Hai 9-21,belonging to medium late mature cultivar . It was approved by Shanxi Crop Cultivar Approval Committee in Dec., 1996 and by Beijing Crop Cultivar Approval Committee in June, 1998.It showed good performance in quality, yield and resistance invarious experiments conducted in 1994～1996.The cultivar is suitable for irrigated fields in medium late mature growing areas and plant density is about 45 000/hm 2. When making commercial seed, the ratio between male and female row is 1∶4 and female is sowed 7 days after male.
