Tao and logos are the highest categories and core concepts in Chinese and Western philosophy history and ideology history. There are many common features between Tao and logos. Yet, due to the fundamental difference in the 'unspeakable' feature of Tao and 'speech' meaning of logos, there exist great divergences in ancient China and Western world in politics, ideology, cultures, languages, etc., since they follow their own highest philosophical category. As the carrier of all human beings' activities, language mainly reflects these two concepts' influences within ideological field. Therefore, through the analysis of Tao and logos, the writer explains the different linguistic worldviews of ancient China and ancient Western world under the influences of them, providing a new perspective for understanding Eastern and Western languages and cultures in social science field.
