Two coumarins were synthesized in good yields (78.9%,81.8%)by one-potreaction of two benzaldehydes with 2,2-pentamethlene-1,3-dioxan-4,6-dione in presence ofpiperidine and acetic acid.A possible intermediate was suggested.
