The article mentions long developing history of Hetian nephrite Jade of Xingjiang and its mineral resource distribution with an emphasis on the mineral compositions and classification of the jade.Through the comparison between main chemical compositions of thr jade and the theoretical values of tremolite and its chemical composition calculation of Mg 2+/(Mg 2++Fe 2+),it is determined that the main composition of Hetian Jade is tremolite mineral and pointed out that the variation of FeO content have a influence on the color and the quality of the jade.
