This paper reviews the interaction between montmorillonite and organic compounds, including:phenomenon of partitioning adsorption and its explanation;exchange reaction between metal cations among montmorillonite galaxy and organic cations; three kinds of interactions between montmorillonite and arene molecule, giving potential use in handling environmental pollutant.
