摘要
利用Jones矩阵法推导了四片式电控偏振控制器的Jones矩阵表示形式,利用该矩阵计算了任意输入光偏振态时的输出光偏振态,分析了输出光与偏振控制器各参数和输入光偏振态之间的关系。给出了偏振光分束器任一个偏振方向上的光强随单个波片相位延迟变化的关系,并从实验上验证了这一关系。偏振控制器PC是高速光纤通信系统研究中一个非常重要的器件,它可以将任意的输入光偏振态变换为任意形式的输出光偏振态。
By using Jones method,the paper gives a Jones matrix expression for4-plate volt-age-con trolled polarization controller(PC),calculates the polarization states of light from PC.It analyses the dependence of the output light from PC on the parameters of that device and input light.It also shows the relationship of light intensity in any direction of polarization splitter and phase delay of a single plate within PC,and proves the result by experiments.PC,a key element in high rate optical fiber communication system,changes any input light polarization state into any desired output light polarization state.
