摘要
研究了1299例健康人和22例脊柱畸形患者身高、指距和肺活量的相关性。结果提示,利用指距可代替或推算身高并进一步计算肺活量的预计值。此法解决了脊柱畸形患者由于身高缩短导致肺活量预计值的误差问题。
The relationship between body height and arm span to vital capacity was studied in 1299 healthy subjects ranging from 3 to 78 years old.It was found that there was a definite close correlation between arm span and body height and also between vital capacity, arm span and body height in normal subjects. It is, therefore, desirable to use arm span instead of body height to predict the normal vital capacity of the patients whose body height have been shortened by spinal curvatures.22 patients with spinal curvatures have thus been studied with the above method.Two approaches to predict the normal vital capacity of the patients with spinal deformity as follows: 1. The arm span measurement might be utilized directly in the formulas derived from the correlation of vital capacity and arm span; 2. arm span might be converted to the estimated normal body height and the latter was then used in whatever prediction formula.
