宜兴鼎蜀 (丁山 )制陶业已有 5 0 0 0多年历史。原因是当地晚古生代湖相沉积的碎屑岩 ,夹有极丰富的陶土—泥岩和粉砂质泥岩。得天独厚的资源优势 ,逐渐发展成为我国最大的陶都。如今 ,陶都的紫砂陶是饮誉天下的产品 。
Yixings pollery clay is famous in China with a long history of more than 5 000 years. The pollery clay, mudstone and silty argillite, is deposited in Wutong formation of late Devonian, Gaolishan formation of early Carboniferous and Longtan formatim of late Permian. The eanthenware became to be popular and well-known poet Su Dongpo designed 'Dongpo pot'. Since the Ming Dynasty the techique of Yixings earthenware has been improved and price of it has been increased. The earthenware made in Yixing is widespread in the world.
