把陈白尘讽刺喜剧跟中国现代讽刺喜剧的历史进程相联系,他那独特的艺术追求、创作特色和历史贡献等问题就具有了新的意义。在中国现代讽刺喜剧史上,关注重大的现实问题、自觉的文类意识以及对讽刺喜剧艺术规律的捍卫等是陈白尘讽刺喜剧的主要历史贡献,这些努力有效地促进了讽刺喜剧跟社会现实和政治现实的结合。从总结中国现代讽刺喜剧经验和教训的角度看,陈白尘讽刺喜剧具有历史认识价值。
If we relate Chen Baichen's satirical comedy to the historical development of China modern satirical comedy, such issues as his unique artistic pursuit, the characteristics and historic contribution of his creative work, will become greatly significant. The major historic significance of Chen Baichen's satirical comedy lies in his close attention to the real life problems, his consciousness of literary genre and his defense of the artistic law of satirical comedy. These efforts promote the integration of satirical comedy and social and political reality. From the standpoint of summarizing the experience of China's modern satirical comedy, Chen Baichen's satirical comedy is of historic significance.
