Simulation of Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell Stack Using Computational Fluid Dynamics Technique

摘要 基于计算流体力学技术 ,建立并仿真了 1 0 k W级顺流型熔融碳酸盐燃料电池 (MCFC)电堆的三维模型 .对电堆内部的物质、动量和能量守恒过程进行了理论分析 .模型考虑了 MCFC电堆的一个重要组成部分——波状板 ,并讨论了波状板尺寸对电堆性能的影响 .结果表明 ,在采用较大尺寸波状板的电堆中 ,电化学反应进行得更加充分 . A 3D model of a 10 kW class MCFC stack of parallel flow and internal manifold type was developed and simulated with a CFD package, FLUENT and its preprocessor, Gambit. The mass, momentum, and energy processes in the molten carbonate fuel cell(MCFC) stack were theoretically analyzed. An important element of the MCFC stack, the corrugated plate was taken into consideration. The model was then utilized to test the influence of different size of the corrugated plates on the performance of the MCFC stack. The results show that in the stack with corrugated plates of larger size it is more convenient for electrochemical reactions to take place. The presented model is applicable to designing of the flow filed in a MCFC stack.
