Non- governmental organizations play a significant role in historic conservation in UK. The author tells development of the private institutions that devote their effort and resources to his-toric conservation, and also their work, method of working, financial resources and expenditures of several organizations such as society for the protection of ancient building, civic trust and vctoriansociety.
