摘要
阿尔金山地处西北边陲,地质研究程度很低,因此对其大地构造属性有不同的看法.该区出露主要为前寒武系,古生界只在局部地区出露,中、新生界则分布于山间坳陷和山前坳陷中。根据区域地层分布和构造分析,阿尔金山既不是加里东褶皱带,也不是华力西褶皱带,而是一个前寒武纪的地块。西北地台由塔里木坳陷、柴达木坳陷、阿尔金断隆和阿拉善台隆4部分组成。阿尔金断隆长期处于隆起状态。阿尔金断裂带纵贯其中,在其构造演化中具有重要作用.

From 1985 to 1988, the State Seismological Bureau of china had organized a program to realize the survey of the active Altun Tagh fault. The author has the opportunity for four times to take part in the field investigations. The Altun Tagh Mountain is located at the border area of Northwest China and only a few geoscientists had reached it. There are different ideas related to its tectonics. Based on the practical data obtained, it is clear that the Altun Tagh Mountain is mainly consisted of the Precambrian rocks, while the Paleozoic and Meso- Cenozoic rocks are mostly confined in its southern margin and mountain trenches or foredeep hasins as well. From the view point of geotec-tonics , it is considered of be a stable Precambrian block and it has long been an uplift, there inded can not belong to Caledonides or Variscanides. The Northwest platform is consisted of four parts, i. e. the Tarim depression, the Qaidam depression , the Altun uplift and the Alxa platform uplift. The Altun Tagh fault is a principal structural line passing through this region, which plays an important role in the tectonic evolution of it.
