Six rice genomic BAC clones were screened by PCR.The genomic sequence of 2 993 bp was identified to code for nmads 1.Through comparison with the cDNA sequence of nmads 1 gene, nmads 1 gene was found to contain six introns and exons with 5′non coding sequence containing two TATA box and a CarG box like sequence.
