An acrylic lard oil alkyd resin has been synthesized hy using the treated lard oil residue from tannery and a process of two-stage esterification. The treatment process of the lard oil residue and technology to prepare acrylic lard oil alkyd has been described, the effects of different alcoholysis conditions and oil degree on the quality of resin were discussed, and the property specifications of the baking varnish based on this resin were listed.
