The paper described a new route for the synthesis of trans-3-(2',2'-dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid The cyclopropane compound was obtained by utilizing ethyl dimethyl sulphuranylidene acetate (EDSA) and 1,1,1-trichloromesityl oxide The route used more economical chemicals,provided mild reaction condition and good yields,and was easy to operate
