摘要
基于英语学习者有时候为歧义所困 ,从语义学和语用学的角度讨论了英语歧义的分类、理解和修辞功能 ;通过实例进行研究和分析 ,指出了影响歧义理解的主要因素并提出了相关对策 ;介绍了歧义的积极作用 .
This paper discusses the classification, resolution and rhetorical function of ambiguity in English. It indicates that contextual analysis and language knowledge are both important to the resolution of ambiguities. It also shows that a better understanding of rhetorical function of ambiguities contributes to the good use and resolution of ambiguities.
