Application of the Non-destructive Testing Technique to Wood Industry

摘要 本文简要地介绍了无损测试技术的产生背景、概念和主要应用?木材工业中的各种无损测试方法及其理论基础和相应的仪器和设备。指出了开展我国木材工业无损测试技术的必要性及重要性。 The non-destructive testing technique is widely used along with the devel-opment of modern science and technology. It is a result of development of labor-atory technique into a practical one, becoming an indispensable major component of automatic quality control and quality guarantee system in the process control. Itdevelops from qualitative detecting of defects into quantitative testing of physico-me-chanical properties.It has become an important guanrantee for products to score suc-cess in competitive markets. The extensively used main methods are optical testing,radiation, acoustic emission and acoustic ultrasonics, microwave, andelctromagnetic methods. The recently developed methods are machine stress and vi-bration methods. Governments of USA, British Commonwealth, France,USSR, Australia and Canada, and the leading figures in industrial and scientificcircles are much concerned with the research on non-destructive testing techniqueand its application to wood industry. Based on the principle of non-destructive test-ing technique, instruments and equipments used in industrial production are devel-oped, and give remarkable economic benefits. China is a developing country withless forest coverage. At present, the fast growing forests established in the early1950s, have become mature and overmature. The rational processing and inte-grated utilization of the wood, scientific selection of fast growing species and thechoice of the optimum utilization program, the non-dimentional stability of prod-ucts after the rapid development of plywood industry, and the lack of non-destruc-tive testing technique for repair of the many ancient architectures all demand imme-diate researches on the non-destructive testing technique in wood industry and forits extensive application.
