在瓷釉中,B_2O_3既是典型的基体剂,又是良好的助熔剂,它以[BO_4]四面体和[BO_3]三角体存在于瓷釉中,具有降低瓷釉熔体的表面张力;与难熔原料混熔生成低共熔体,降低瓷釉的熔融温度和粘度等特性。在硼原料短缺时,日用搪瓷可以使用少含硼或无硼的瓷釉。一般采用P_2O_5、ZnO、Na_2SiF_6和硅钛酸钠V_(26)(含37%Na_2O,39%TiO_2和30.3%SiO_2)代替B_2O_3,同样能够获得较理想的配方。
A satisfactory boron-free titania enamel formula by substitution of P2O5, ZnO, V26, Na2SiF6 for B2O3 has been selected by cross tests and some regularities of substitution of PA, ZnO, V26, Na2SiF6 for B2O3 have boon found out. When 0.034 mol P2O5 is added, the whiteness can be remarkably improved; if ZnO roaches 0.084 rnol, the whiteness and gloss can be significantly increased; and if Na2SiF6 is close to 0.042 mol, the gloss can bo improved. V26 has a fluxing effect similar to B2O3 and can bo nsod to improve the opacity of the enamel slip. Fluxing offect of mixture of Li2O, Na2O and K2O in a certain ratio is stronger than that of any single alkali and that mixture also contributes to form TiO2, improving tno opacity of the enamel.
