On basis of experimental analysis and theoretical research on coal blend, we receive a conclusion that the relationship between the coal blend properties and compose coals is nonlinear, which is initially regarded as linearity. This feature can be finely described by the way of neural network and fuzzy mathematics etc. in an effort to develop the computer based expert system for coal blend successfully. Figs 2 and refs 4.
