Water soluble maleic anhydride/acrylic acid/2 acrylamide 2 dimethyl propyl sulfonic acid/sodium hypophosphite copolymer was synthesized in the presence of ammonium peroxysulfate as polymerization initiator.The optimum synthetic conditions have been found out. The properties of the copolymer for inhibited formation of scale of CaCO 3,Ca 3(PO 4) 2 and deposit of Fe 2O 3,MgSiO 3 have been studied.The results showed that the copolymer possessed quite good effects on reducing the deposition of CaCO 3,Ca 3(PO 4) 2,Fe 2O 3,and MgSiO 3,even better than the similar products available in China.
