On the basis of the basic manufacturing process of RPM(rapid prototype manufacturing), three communicating models of RPM are constructed and discussed, and the SLI file is selected as the basic format of the remote inputting control. The TCP/IP point to point communications with single address is realized, which is based on Winsock network software. The corresponding software is developed utilizing the client/server mode. The transmitting and receiving of the controlling and machining data are accomplished. Also, the rapid prototype machine′s remote controlling and machining are realized in internet.
