There are a lot of abstract concepts such as the internal rotation and the normal vibration in the statistical thermodynamics. It is difficult to describe them clearly with the traditional teaching method. By using the three dimensional animation design technique, this difficulty can be surmounted. A MCAI courseware for the statistical thermodynamics of polyatomic molecule has been developed by the 3DS MAX three-dimensional animation design technique. In this courseware, those abstract concepts are explained vividly and more understandably. In this paper, the part 1-- internal rotation of the MCAI courseware of polyatomic molecule statistical thermodynamics is presented.
