摘要
通过对美国科学信息研究所的影响因子等概念及其主要学术评价功能的评析 ,说明影响因子本质上是引用频率 。
Through the explanation of the concepts of impact factors and its derivatives raised by Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) of the United States, and the analytical evaluation of the impact factors' functions in the process of academic evaluation, it was demonstrated that the nature of impact factors is citation rates, which could not directly reflect or reveal the actual impact and quality of journals or papers therein.
