Grain size and hardness of hot rolled Q235 steel were studied by means of heat treatment to simulate typical fire temperature time process. A quantative relationship between grain size and hardness of Q235 steel and fire temperature was drawn. A method to estimate fire temperature of different position in fire by measuring grain size and hardness of Q235 steel was proposed.
