摘要
生命科学和技术已成为全球政治家、经济学家和科学家十分关注的一个科技领域。作者从生命科学的角度 ,分析了在新世纪中人类所面临的问题 ,生命科学的前沿 ,及其对人类未来经济社会发展的影响。希望能使读者了解 2 1世纪的生命科学的特点 ,关注与生命科学密切有关的农业、医学。
The problems facing mankind in the 21st century, such as population, resources, environment, are closely related with life science. Last century saw the tremendous advance in life science, especially the discovery of DNA's double spiral structure in the 1950s, which greatly advanced molecular biology and molecular genetics, revealed the basic structure of genetic material. The forefronts of life science in this century include human gene group project, growth biology, the function of the human brain, biological engineering, the relation between life science and environment. Life science is still developing, providing knowledge and technolegy for man to create a better world.
