An innovative Solid Insulation Distribution Transfomer (SIDT) developed jointly by ABB and Hydro Quebec, Canada, enables electric utilities to operate their power distribution systems economically while meeting strict environmental standards. SIDTs are corrosion free, silent, withstand severe weather and contain no flammable or volatile liquids. Since they eliminate the risk of soil or groundwater contamination, SIDTs are an ideal solution for underground systems.
