摘要
Objective:To study the relationship betwee nlife events,coping strategies and depression in undergraduates.Methods:Fifteen hundred students were s elected in three schools area of a university.All participants were administered the Life Events Scale,Copi ng Strategies Scale and Self-rating Depressive Scale(SDS).Res ults:The score of SDS was 42.42±7.97.Respondents scored higher on SD S endorsed higher scores on major life events pertaining to inter-personal relat ionship,stress of study,loss,punishment,health and adaptation,as well as love an d family.The higher scorers on SDS were also found to adopt more negative coping strategies when compared to lower scorers. Conclusion: The rate of depression were higher in undergraduates,which warrant cl oser attention.Higher incidents of life events and negative coming strategies ma y constitute significant risk factors for depression.
