网络技术在教育中的广泛应用已给教育带来了革命性的变化。网络教育作为一种新的教育形式越来越受欢迎 ,网络教育的热潮已兴起 ,但也出现了一些不良的倾向。
The employment of networking technology in education on a large scale has brought about a revolutionary change in education with online classrooms and virtual schools springing up everywhere. Yet, when looking into this boom in education on the Internet, we can easily find some inclinations which are hindering its development in a healthy way. 1. The net will replace teachers. Some people hold that due to the wide range of employment of the networking technology, learning could be carried out through the net, teachers are no longer useful. Is this true? There are two basic aspects of education: teaching knowledge and educating people. Advanced information technology only replaces partially what a teacher can do in his role of teaching knowledge; while the student still needs the teacher's help and guidance in his learning. His correct philosophy about life, science, virtue and morality cannot be formed by networking technology, nor his good behavior and habit can be cultivated by it. 2. Equality in education can be gained through net. The sharing of net resources leaves people the impression that the ideal of equality of education would come true with the use of internet. Yet they forget the fact that education on the internet cannot be conducted without the possession of computer and telephone line which are the proposition of such kind of education. The unevenly developed economics in our country makes it difficult: in those developed areas, there is a very quick spreading of education on the internet while in those poverty ridden areas, many students are forced to give up their schooling in order to make a living. How could they manage to sit before a computer and get their education, paying a large sum of money for logging onto the net? Total dependence on one media to realize the equality of education is a dangerous concept. 3. Education on the internet is a completely open and individualized education. Because of the special characteristics of the internet, learning of the student is active rather than passive. He is free to choose his learning contents, his tutor, his time and place for learning. Although this shows the liberalization and individualization of education during its process, it does not mean that this education is a very permissive one without any restrictions and restraint. The important role education plays in the society lies in its stress on the combination of individualism with the society. An education without giving its due attention to the society is a failure. Although at this moment we cannot yet standardize the morality of behaviors on the Internet, we must be on the alert of the danger. 4. Online schools can cater for innumerable students. Education on the internet is widely welcomed as an efficient way to mitigate the harm done by lack of educational resources, yet many schools recruit large number of students regardless of their real conditions. This kind of enrollment is against the nature of education. Judging whether the school's education is a success or failure depends on its quality rather than its number of students. That is, we should consider fairness and effect equally important. The administrative body of education should take measures to regulate the behaviors of those online schools and evaluate their equipment, teachers and staff at regular intervals in order to guarantee the quality of their teaching. 5. Textbooks plus logging onto the Internet is what education on the internet is all about. Many believe that education on the internet is only a way to conduct education, that is through the Internet. They didn't realize that the new technique would surely change the four essences (the teacher, the student, the teaching contents and the teaching methods) of education. If we adhere to the old traditional education concept, then we may not be able to adapt ourselves to the new era, the development of our education might be fettered, as a result. 6. Each of the online school is doing in its own way. Now, online schools are springing up everywhere, showing grea
