委婉语是随着人类认知的发展变化而出现 ,并不断地丰富的。运用委婉语有利于人们的交流 ,使人们在各种不同的场合中能够恰当地表达自己的想法而不显得尴尬。了解和掌握英语委婉语的运用 ,不仅能提高英语的运用技巧和交际能力 ,而且能深入了解语言所蕴藏的文化内涵。
The existence and richness of euphemisms follows the development of man's cognition. Using euphemisms may do good to people's communication, and it can help people express themselves appropriately without embarrassment in various situations. Learning and commanding the usage of English euphemisms can not only improve the ability to use and communicate in English but help to keep abreast of the cultural connotations embodied in the language.
