摘要
提供本地宽带接入的媒体,除了大家熟知的DSL、电缆调制解调器和无线接入以外,最近又出现一种新的传输手段,即利用大气激光传输原理的自由空间光通信(FSO)系统,也称无线光网(WON)系统。在对FSO卷土重来的主要原因进行分析的基础上,介绍了FSO的网络拓扑结构,并分析了FSO的优点及存在的主要问题。最后预测,FSO将克服网络接入部分带宽成本与容量的瓶颈,作为一种主要的无线手段进入本地宽带接入市场。
Besides quite well known DSL, Cable Modem and Wireless Access, a new broadband access technology is emerging, namely Free Space Optical communication system that makes use of the principles of air laser transmission. Based on the analysis of the reasons for the rising up of FSO, the network topologies of FSO are introduced in this paper. The advantages and disadvantages of FSO are also analyzed. Finally, it is predicted that as the technology that overcomes the bottleneck of bandwidth cost and capacity of networks' access part, FSO will enter the local broadband access market as the main wireless access method.
