曼纽尔·卡斯特尔是美国当代著名社会学家 ,他的信息社会理论一经问世 ,便在世界范围内产生广泛而深刻的影响。本文介绍了卡斯特尔的学术历程和他的信息社会理论 ,其中着重对他的信息化城市理论、高技术产业区位理论、网络社会理论等作了述评 ,并简要介绍了若干社会学家对他的最新信息社会理论著作的评价。
Manuel Castells is a famous contemporary sociologist in America. His theory of information society has produced extensive and profound influence ever since it was founded.The paper introduces Castells' academic career and his theory of information society,and especially emphasizes his theory of informationalized city,the theory of location of high-tech industries and the theory of the network society. The paper also introduces precisely reviews on the theory by some sociologists.
