The Klein Gordon scalar equation is generalized in five dimensional manifold from the minimally coupled case to the conformally coupled case. The relative variation value of mass is discussed thoroughly. The results indicate that the effective 4D mass of a test particle is variable for the static and spherically symmetric solution, and the Friedman cosmological solution.
