增设燃气轮机以提高电厂的效率和出力是当今改造矿物燃料电厂的2项主要目标。燃气轮机的增设将不仅使电三和的效率和出力获得大幅度的提高，而且还有利于环保。文章重点介绍苏格兰Peterhead电厂采用燃气轮机的升级改造项目。
